The first Adventist Education Leaders Meeting of the South American Division of Seventh-day Adventists took place on June 28–29, 2023. This event took place in the facilities of the publishing house Asociación Casa Editora Sudamericana (ACES), in Buenos Aires, and gathered Adventist Education (AE) leaders with the objective of strengthening their commitment with the new generations of students.
During the meeting, several presentations focused on disruption, progress, trends, leadership, and management in the educational field. Leaders from different countries set goals for 2024 and requested God's blessing and direction for the new school year in all educational institutions in South America.
One of the most significant moments of the event was the celebration of the baptism of Lucas Gaspar, a student of the Instituto Adventista Balcarce (IAB), located in Argentina. This emotional act represents the positive impact of Adventist education in the lives of young people. Lucas, through his relationship with classmates and teachers, made the decision to give his life to Jesus, demonstrating the fruits of the work done in Adventist educational institutions.
Education plays a fundamental role in the church by providing quality learning based on sound principles and values that prepares students to face life's challenges with integrity and purpose.
This first Adventist Education Leaders Meeting inspired and motivated participants to reaffirm the church's commitment to education and its impact on society. "Our commitment is to our Lord Jesus and His mission," emphasized Pastor Stanley Arco, president of the SAD.
The challenge is to continue working in unity to strengthen and promote a comprehensive education that forms ethical, responsible leaders in the new generations.
