More than 25,000 people attended evangelistic meetings in Cochabamba and Oruro, Bolivia, on April 4 and 5, 2026, where 325 individuals were baptized following two days of public preaching.

The initiative was organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in central Bolivia as part of the La Esperanza es Jesus (Hope is Jesus) evangelistic caravan, a series of large-scale gatherings held in both cities.

Adventist speaker Alejandro Bullón presented the messages, with additional attendees making spiritual commitments that will be followed up by local congregations.

Previous missionary strategy

Prior to the meetings, the church implemented a coordinated outreach strategy. According to regional organizers, 719 preaching centers were established, involving 4,699 church members and 5,224 individuals participating in Bible studies.

Leaders said this preparation played a key role in strengthening the impact of the campaign by fostering relationships and ongoing engagement with participants.

Spiritual decisions

The main meetings were held at La Coronilla Coliseum in Cochabamba and the Sports Palace in Oruro, both of which reached capacity during the events.

Church members invited friends, family, and community contacts, contributing to high attendance and participation. In addition to baptisms, many attendees expressed interest in continuing Bible studies.

Unity for the mission

The president of the Central Bolivian Mission, Pastor Luis Luis Velásquez, president of the Central Bolivian Mission, said the initiative highlighted a strong interest in spiritual topics within the community.

He also noted the continued involvement of Bullón, who, despite having retired from active administrative roles, continues to participate in evangelistic efforts, including in high-altitude locations such as Oruro.

Velásquez emphasized the role of church members in the outreach, noting their active participation in inviting and supporting attendees throughout the campaign.

Ongoing impact

Church leaders said the results reflect both immediate outcomes and ongoing opportunities for discipleship.

They noted that the combination of public evangelism and small-group preparation continues to support the church’s mission of sharing its message and fostering long-term spiritual growth.
