Ecuador trains missionaries to bring hope

The mission is not in quarantine and different young missionaries carry out activities to share love in different countries of South America.

The Adventist Voluntary Service is in charge of training and motivating young people or adults who can give a part of their time, with the aim of serving society and sharing a message of hope anywhere in the world.

The missionaries are involved in various activities, in different institutions of the Adventist denomination, and they also share different people through Bible studies so that they can learn more about the faith of Jesus.

“For us the pandemic has not been a problem,” says Pastor Darling Ayala, director of the Adventist Voluntary Service in Ecuador. “On the contrary, we have volunteers who continue to work, we have weekly meetings where they tell us about their experiences and we exchange ideas.”

There are many experiences young people have in Ecuador which translate into a global context, giving the youth an automatic connection point.

"In the search for new activities, I decided to make virtual visits to all the friends who frequented our church and who attended Sabbath School as a teenager,” says Danna Briones, a volunteer in Salvador Bahía, Brazil. “Thanks to this approach, 16-year-old Jennifer was able to give her life to Jesus through baptism."

Like Briones, other young missionaries are ready to deliver a message of love and hope in times of crisis. To this end, the Adventist Church in Brazil boasts several voluntary service schools where young people can be trained as missionaries through different training and activities, and in this way learn more about being a missionary anywhere in the world.
