A conference aimed at fostering a spirit of unity and partnership in mission within the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide will be convened April 19 to 21, 2002, at the church's headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.
A conference aimed at fostering a spirit of unity and partnership in mission within the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide will convene April 19 to 21, 2002, at the church’s headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.
The Cross-Cultural Mission Agencies Conference provides an opportunity for all those participating in the church’s front-line mission work to share creative ideas, encourage each other, and maximize use of resources to achieve common goals, said Lowell Cooper, a vice president of the Adventist Church, who presented the proposal to Annual Council.
“This is an opportunity for talking together and thinking together with all those groups—both church entities and supporting ministries—that are involved in mission work across cultural lines,” said Cooper.
The goal is to create a “synergy” among mission organizations as they work together for the unity, growth, and quality of spiritual life within the Adventist Church, he explained.
The event is timed to coincide with next year’s meeting of the church’s executive committee, an international group of church leaders who will also be invited to participate in the conference.
