On November 14, 2024, the Colégio Adventista de Setúbal officially inaugurated its new facilities in Setúbal, Portugal, marking a significant advancement in local education. The ceremony featured Carla Guerreiro, the vice-mayor of Setúbal, who underscored the importance of collaboration between the school and the City Hall in fostering educational success for young people.
During her address, Guerreiro highlighted the strong relationship between the institution and the city, noting the positive effects of joint initiatives like the Eco-Escolas program. "Training people for the future" is a mutual goal that both entities are eager to continue promoting, she stated. "If you need anything from City Hall and we can help, we will be here," she affirmed.
The new facilities, situated at the site of the former Colégio de São Cristóvão, provide a unified location for elementary education, preschool, and daycare. Emanuel Esteves, President of the School Council, expressed that the inauguration fulfills a dream nearly 43 years in the making, aimed at enhancing conditions for students, teachers, and staff.
Spanning 10,000 square meters, the campus includes two modern buildings. The first, designated for the first cycle of education, comprises four classrooms, a library, a gym, and a teachers' room, accommodating up to 100 students. The second building is dedicated to early childhood education and daycare, featuring space for 50 preschool children and 43 daycare children, alongside a kitchen, a dining room, and several support rooms.
