Churches in Brazil are partnering with a major cell phone company to launch a cell phone broadcast channel called the Minute of Faith. The service, which was started last week by the ATL cell phone company in Rio de Janeiro, is known as Radio ATL. It will transmit messages from various churches, including Seventh-day Adventists, the Assembly of God, and the Roman Catholic Church.
Cell phone users who access the channel can listen to messages from the Adventist Church featuring Neumoel Stina, the speaker for the Brazilian Voice of Prophecy program. The messages are varied, and the Voice of Prophecy already has 80 programs available on ATL Radio. The Adventist messages deal with family, health, forgiveness, comfort and faith in Jesus.
To access the channel, ATL cell phone users should dial *100. To call from other regions of Brazil, the number is 0 xx 21 9222-0100, and in other countries 55 21 9222-0100. After dialing the number, users should chose option 8 on the menu and, for example, dial number 4 to listen to the message from the Adventist Church.
