Caleb Mission Carries Out Various Actions with 67 Teams in Northern Paraná

The Caleb Mission is already a tradition among young Adventists, and the northern Paraná region has 2,903 missionaries in this year's team. Volunteers are distributed among 67 teams throughout 37 cities. They have promoted health fairs, conducted home visitations, collected and donated food and clothing, held lectures for smokers, cleaned up public spaces, completed home renovations, held blood donation drives, amongst several other solidarity and evangelism activities. The activities are diverse and planned according to the needs and resources of each location.

Personalizing the Work

Young people from the Vivi Xavier Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Londrina, delivered cakes made by them with personalized decorations for members who have not been attending services.

The Jardim Vitória Church Group, in Maringá, distributed books at the neighborhood fair and water at a traffic light. On the water bottles they gave, and on the signs they held up, they had inscribed, “Jesus: The Water of Life.” On the 28th, they delivered a breakfast kit to people waiting for an appointment at a Basic Health Unit (UBS) and at a nearby bus stop.

Moving To the Community

Calebs from the churches of Quadra Norte and Aquiles Sthengel, in Londrina, promoted Rua do Amor in the Jardim Primavera neighborhood. The idea was to have a market of clothes and shoes, together with a distribution of snacks and books. On another day, they gave out invitations to the "Breathe Free" course, a course to help people stop smoking, drinking, and using drugs. The lectures began on January 29th and will continue through February 5th and are held at the Adventist church in Quadra Norte.

The current Caleb Mission in northern Paraná will officially end on February 5th with a celebration bringing together all of the participants.
