In the middle of social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic that artisan Mara da Silva found an opportunity to talk about Jesus.
A resident of a condominium in the city of Serra, in Espírito Santo, Brazil, de Silva decided to create personalized gifts for her neighbors, with messages about the Bible. Now, four people are taking Bible studies with her through WhatsApp.
The first special “treat” was a fabric mask, to use for protection during pandemic. The mask was not given alone, but accompanied by a special message, "Hi neighbor! How are you and your family? It's Mara, from apartment 907.”
“I put the gift bags on the doors, says de Silva. “People liked them a lot. I’ve only had positive reactions.”
Mara's work has earned her new friends and people who trust her for care and prayers.
