Amazonia Adventist College (FAAMA) signed a cooperation agreement with Woxsen University (WoU), located in Hyderabad, one of the most prominent cities in technological development in India. The goal of the partnership, signed on February 17, is to boost the internationalization of the institution and expand the opportunities for the academic and professional development of students.
According to Prof. Chahat Mishra, head of International Relations and Strategic Development at WoU, the Indian university has partnerships with 112 educational institutions. This includes its presence in 42 countries, including some in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific, and Africa, as well as the United States and the United Kingdom, focusing especially on technological innovation in various areas.
Partnership and Innovation
Thus, the agreement establishes research partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, and intensive courses in the areas of management, business, technology, health, education, and law. The institutions also plan to send and receive groups for face-to-face programs and offer online workshops with professors of different specialties and areas that are active in their courses.
For Prof. Mishra, the partnership "will help in the holistic development of students and faculty at the university, enabling them to compete in a disruptive ecosystem that keeps pace with the needs of the digital economy." The collaboration with the Adventist institution will further strengthen its advancement in Brazil toward a sustainable future.
The agreement opens doors to a new moment, strengthening internationalization and offering students the opportunity to learn from an innovative university with a leading role in India and the world, which broadens the global vision of students and professors.
Technological Expansion
The agreement is one of the initiatives for the academic and global development of FAAMA, which involves the opening of new undergraduate and graduate courses and the creation of a language institute, in addition to technological expansion.
The director-general of the institution, Pastor José Prudêncio Jr., says internationalization brings even more visibility, not only for the institution, but for the entire community involved, including teachers and students. The initiative expands the frontiers and gives the opportunity to receive people to know, learn, and collaborate in the region. "This, without a doubt, is an effort that strengthens our commitment to our mission: to form professionals committed to the development of the Amazon and the world," he stressed.
Located in the metropolitan region of Belém, Pará, FAAMA offers four undergraduate courses: theology, nursing, pedagogy, and psychology, totaling approximately 400 students. For 2024, the college will increase the course catalog with the opening of law, systems analysis and development, IT management, hospital management, media management, and management processes.
"This movement towards growth and international expansion further reinforces our slogan of promoting 'connections for life,'" said Prudêncio.
