Alyssa Truman has been elected to serve as director of General Conference Communication for the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 term during the 62nd General Conference Session of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Truman brings more than a decade of experience in digital communication, media strategy, and global church engagement. Since 2022, she has served in the GC Communication Department, first as digital evangelism manager and then as assistant director. Prior to her work at the GC, she served as marketing manager for Adventist World Radio.
Truman’s leadership has been central to numerous global initiatives, including the 2022 GC Session’s digital-first social media strategy, and the execution of major GAiN Conferences: GAiN Americas, GAiN Africa, and GAiN Thailand. In 2024, she led a comprehensive overhaul of the ANN website and helped expand its reach up to six languages. Her strategic planning helped grow the Adventist Church’s social media following from 400,000 to 3.8 million across five platforms in four languages. She also co-authored Digital Strategy for Mission in 2025.
Truman recently completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry (2025) from Andrews University. She is married to her husband, Trent, who is the Creative Projects Manager for the North American Division. Together they have three daughters, Moraya, Reily, and Ellie.
The Communication Department manages the global messaging, branding, and public relations of the Adventist Church. It oversees media production, crisis communication, digital evangelism, and ANN, ensuring the church’s mission is clearly shared across various platforms while equipping leaders and members to be effective communicators.
