Pakistan—In August, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) distributed relief aid to flood survivors in the province of Punjab in Pakistan.

Thailand—Mission College, a Seventh-day Adventist institution in Thailand, received one of the government’s most prestigious awards on Aug. 29. 
Thailand’s Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, awarded the college the “2005 Prime Minister’s Export Award” for being an outstanding higher education provider of education to international students. 

Angola—After four decades in a land of war 1,300 Adventist young people in Angola held their first youth congress in August.  Also, more than 6,000 have been baptized into the church in Angola as a direct result of the Elijah project which encourages young people to lead evangelism campaigns.

Church planting in Europe—Nearly 1,000 Adventists interested in starting and leading new Adventist churches met throughout Europe over the summer. Meetings were held in Norway, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Myanmar—The Adventist Church in Myanmar opened its first language school   on Sept. 11, enrolling 30 students interested in learning English.
