Since April 6th, 2024, and for the following 21 days, hundreds of Adventists in the northern region of Brazil have been engaged in improving their physical, mental, and spiritual health through a project that aims to implement healthy habits in the routine of participants in gradual way.

"21 Days to Change" is a preventive health campaign designed by Adventists from the North Brazil Union Mission (União Norte Brasileira), as a method of health evangelism. Within the activities, participants participate in individual and daily challenges and all are encouraged to participate with others for increased discipline and perseverance. The project seeks to inspire a lifestyle change challenge for every participant. At the end, each local church will have a closing celebration.

"The 21 Days to Change Project has two main objectives. The first is to involve our entire brotherhood in changing lifestyle behaviors to be able to live longer and better. The second objective is that this project is a possibility for health evangelism. ", said Ivan Nascimento, Health Ministries director at the North Brazil Union Mission. "There are many people who don't know Christ and can be encouraged and get involved in this project to change their lifestyle", he states.

On April 1st, employees from the North Brazil Union Mission office participated in the project launch service in which they also confirmed their commitment to health and pledged to actively participate in this journey.

Project Inspiration

The content of the project was taken from a book of the same name, written by two doctors and specialists in preventive health: Doctor Marcello Niek and Doctor Jorge Pamplona. The book is part of the campaign's support material.

"Would it be necessary to deprive yourself of all pleasures to have good health? Of course not! Choose what is healthiest, persist for a period of time, and, quickly, the habit will make it more pleasant and easier. Yes, it is possible to change for the better. It's worth it! No one, so far, has regretted investing in improving their health and quality of life. I hope you enjoy these changes in your life", reinforced Niek.
