Adventist Women in Northern Asia Launch 30 Days of Prayer Movement

On March 7, 2026, women from the Seventh-day Adventist Church in northern Asia gathered to observe the annual International Women’s Day of Prayer. Held each year on the first Saturday of March, this special day in the global Adventist Church calendar provides an opportunity for women to strengthen their spiritual bonds by praying for and with one another.

To mark the occasion, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) Women’s Ministries Department launched a meaningful initiative, the 30 Days of Prayer Movement, to reconnect with women who have been absent from church life.

The movement began on February 7 and culminated on March 7, to help highlight the power of prayer and celebrate relationships restored through intentional spiritual care.

One woman, one name, one prayer

Centered on the theme “One Woman, One Name, One Prayer,” the initiative encouraged each woman across the division to write down the name of one female who had not been attending church and to intentionally intercede for her. The goal was simple yet deeply spiritual: to foster personal, heartfelt prayer that would lead to reconnection and restoration.

The NSD Women’s Ministries team worked closely with local churches and leaders to mobilize participation. Practical guidance and resources were shared to help women pray intentionally, reach out with compassion, and reconnect with friends who may have gradually drifted away from church fellowship.

Behind the scenes, Women’s Ministries directors and leaders throughout the division devoted themselves to planning, praying, and encouraging their congregations. Their dedication was reflected in the response from local churches. In many congregations, women stepped forward to pray for friends they had not seen for months or even years.

Reconnection and rejoicing

Early reports from across the division have been encouraging, sources say. Many churches have shared testimonies of women who had been absent and are beginning to reconnect with their church families. Leaders shared that these moments served as powerful reminders that when God’s people pray, He works in remarkable ways.

Raquel Arrais, Women’s Ministries director of the NSD, expressed gratitude to God for the blessings experienced during this special Sabbath.

She said, “In many local churches, the International Women’s Day of Prayer became more than a scheduled program; it grew into a movement of intercession and restoration for friends who were missing.”

A movement that continues

Although the 30 Days of Prayer Movement had a designated time frame, its underlying vision is intended to extend far beyond the initial weeks. Women are encouraged to continue praying, reaching out, and caring for one another intentionally.

In fact, the “One Woman, One Name, One Prayer” initiative is envisioned as an ongoing, year-round movement—a call to embrace prayer and intentional friendship as a lifestyle.
