Seven students and two teachers from Tusgal School visited Seohae Sahmyook Middle School from March 29 to April 5, 2026, to participate in an international exchange program.

Located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Tusgal School is the only Seventh-day Adventist school in the country. It serves approximately 260 students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, with 35 faculty and staff members. About half of the school community is Adventist.

The exchange between the two schools has continued steadily since they signed a cooperation agreement last year. This visit marks their second exchange following the March 2024 visit. Last summer, students from Seohae Sahmyook Middle School traveled to Mongolia, where they experienced local culture and strengthened mutual connections.

During their stay, the Mongolian students joined regular classes alongside their Korean peers and engaged in a variety of hands-on activities. In home economics class, they made tteokbokki. In music class, they learned harmony by singing together. In art class, they created eco-bags featuring traditional patterns. In the Korean language class, they shared emotions and culture by creating a “Korea–Mongolia visual dictionary.”

In the afternoons, the group explored both the historical and modern aspects of Korea through site visits and attended the Week of Prayer, where they listened attentively to the message.

In physical education classes, students bonded through activities such as big volleyball and traditional Korean games, including yutnori, tuho, jegichagi, and ttakji. Although language differences remained, students connected through cheers, laughter, and shared experiences. School meals also became a memorable part of the visit. A variety of Korean dishes were served. The Mongolian students found the unfamiliar ingredients both intriguing and enjoyable.

Kim SukYi, principal of Seohae Sahmyook Middle School, emphasized the educational value of the exchange.

“Many students gained confidence in using English as they communicated with international peers and developed a broader global perspective,” she said. “We will continue to expand partnerships with institutions in countries such as Japan and the Philippines to further strengthen international education.”

Ulziijargal, principal of Tusgal School, added, “This exchange has opened opportunities for mutual learning and growth. We are confident that by strengthening our partnership and combining our best educational experiences, we can work together to develop world-class education.”
