Staff at Adventist schools in Tonga have received a new Bible specially designed to deepen their faith and support personal time with God.

During a recent visit to Tonga, Glenn Townend, South Pacific Division (SPD) president, took with him copies of the Abide Bible for all the school staff. He said the Bibles were not only for the teachers, but also for the cooks, gardeners, bus drivers and other staff.

“The Bible is to remind them to abide in Christ,” he said, “to encourage them to live out their spiritual lives in their profession.”

The Abide Bible contains additional resources created and compiled by Murray Hunter, Australian Union Conference Ministerial Associate secretary for Chaplaincy, specially developed to support those working within Adventist education in the South Pacific.

The project, supported and funded by the SPD and its four unions, will see all staff across the division receive an Abide Bible over the next two years.
