The inaugural Adventist Laymen's Services and Industries (ASI) and Adventist Professionals (Ad Pro) Convention celebrated the baptism of 53 new members. This is the result of simultaneous care group evangelistic campaigns sponsored and led by ASI and Ad Pro in three areas across the San Miguel area, culminating in the harvest celebration.

Don Miguel Farm and Resort in Manggahan, Philippines, hosted the convention, which started on Friday, May 24, and ended on May 25, 2024. It brought together thousands of individuals from various business backgrounds across Eastern Visayas for a two-day event themed "Sharing Christ in the Workplace and Marketplace." The convention empowered Adventist professionals to integrate Christian values into their work and professional relationships.

The convention began on Friday evening, setting the tone for the upcoming Sabbath. Bernardino Maniego, the ASI and Ad Pro coordinator for the Adventist Church in Central Philippines (CPUC), delivered the opening message. He reminded attendees of their purpose in using their time and efforts to share the gospel in every possible way.

"The purpose of this convention with our ASI members, Adventist businessmen, and Adventist professionals is to inspire and encourage them to commit themselves to the mission of the Lord," said Maniego.

"Every day, every moment, and every second matter. Our purpose is a divine call to share Jesus with this generation," he added.

During the Sabbath, seasoned pastors and leaders who have dedicated their lives to ministry shared their testimonies of faith. They spoke of God's guidance in their lives, hoping to inspire and motivate delegates to stand firm in their faith within their respective workplaces.

Engr. Conrado Avila Jr., CPUC ASI president; Mr. Jonathan Lamorin, SSD ASI president-elect; Pastor Joer T. Barliso Jr., CPUC president; and Mayor Norman D. Sabdao, CPUC Ad Pro president, were among the leaders delivering messages of inspiration at the ASI and Ad Pro Convention in East Visayas. Each shared unique stories of their faith journey, overcoming the pressure of working for non-denominational entities.

During the afternoon service, a key aspect of the convention was the open forum, where delegates engaged in discussions on effective ways to serve as sources of inspiration and hope in their workplaces.

The session concluded with Pastor Barlizo delivering a commitment message, urging attendees to remain dedicated to the initiatives they had undertaken. He also praised the efforts and leadership of EVC, ASI, and Ad Pro for organizing and making the convention a success.

The convention served as a platform for individuals to exchange insights on integrating their faith into their respective professions. Attendees gained valuable perspectives that helped them strengthen their faith and equip them to serve as effective ambassadors of Christ in their workplaces and marketplaces. During the convention, the ASI/Ad Pro collected generous financial support, amounting to more than a million pesos, to fund its future evangelistic endeavors.

The Adventist Professionals organization in Central Philippines is a group of individuals from both the public and private sectors who share a common goal: to share Jesus in the workplace. They aim to build relationships and create an influence of kindness within their professional circles.
