Adventist “Good Hands” project Helps the Less-Fortunate in Russia

At the end of December 2022 in Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, a volunteer project of the Seventh-day Adventist Church called "Good Hands" was launched. Naberezhnye Chelny became the fourth city in the Volga-Vyatka Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to launch this project.

The Good Hands Volunteer Association has already been active in the towns of Kstovo and Bor in the Nizhny Novgorod region, in Nizhny Novgorod itself, and now in a large industrial city in the Republic of Tatarstan. The first meeting organized by the association in Naberezhnye Chelny was dedicated to Christmas and the New Year.

The program was attended by the association's volunteers: young people, children, and adults. Sixty people came to the first meeting. Forty-four families received help: food packages and clothes. On January 6, the association volunteers held a meeting in the city of Mendeleevsk. Here, help in the form of food and clothes was given to 30 families. On January 7, there was a holiday program for residents of the old part of town. Despite the severe frosts, more than 30 people came here; 20 families received material assistance.

On January 14, there was a performance entitled "A Christmas Dream." The play was attended by over 50 people, many of whom were first-time visitors of the house of prayer. Guests of the holiday meeting asked, "Why didn't we know about you before? Have you always been here? We will invite our friends here!"

The Christmas program included games with the audience and a play, books for all guests, and a festive tea party. After the play, visitors had the opportunity to take pictures with the actors and participants.
