From May 22–24, 2023, Erton Köhler, secretary of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, visited Spain upon the occasion of the evangelism campaign "Europe for Christ." Pastor Köhler visited Madrid and Sagunto. At this time, the Ministerial Association had the opportunity to hold several informative meetings.

Madrid

In Madrid, the first meeting began with introductions of all those present. Pastor Köhler wanted to get to know the pastors’ names and responsibilities.

In the pastoral reflections, the need to work to spread a message of hope to all souls was underlined. The word “mission” was the most used word in the meetings. Köhler highlighted the profile of a conservative-modern pastor: i.e., one who remains faithful to biblical principles yet at the same time is open to adapting the language of the Gospel. “We need to expand it into every corner, and it should be the strategy and model for every employee of the work,” said Köhler. In concrete, well-intentioned words, the urgency to reach the world with the three angels’ messages was highlighted.

Sagunto

The meeting of the Sagunto pastors was also attended by the professors of Facultad Adventista de Teología de España. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and socialize during another moment prepared especially for them, together with the dean of the faculty, Pastor Victor Armenteros.

In his busy schedule, Pastor Köhler preached every night in the churches of Emmaus, Castellón, and Sagunto Campus and also visited the HopeMedia production center. Special mention should be made of the evangelistic campaign held in Colmenar Viejo over two weekends.

It was a long-awaited visit, planned in advance and full of expectations fulfilled. “Being part of a global family has great challenges. But no matter where in the world,” Pastor Köhler said, “we must not forget that we are a family that announces the soon return of Christ.”
