An alumni couple of Sahmyook University (Seoul, South Korea), Ahn JaeWan and Cho EunHo, donated ₩100 million (about US$80,000) to the Theology Department for the project of training overseas master’s and doctoral students. It is a scholarship project to support pastors who work in parts of Asia and Africa and hope to be leaders in theology in their home countries. Full scholarships will be provided for master’s courses for two years and doctoral courses for three years.

The couple studied theology at Sahmyook in 1984. After graduating in the late 1980s, they moved to the U.S. and continued to minister there. Currently, they serve at Hilltop Church in Ontario, California. The couple, who has done meaningful projects every ten years, decided to donate funds to their alma mater ahead of their 60th birthdays.

They said, “We hope that international students studying at Sahmyook University will return to their countries and stand as competent theologians and spiritual leaders to work for the gospel of the world.”
