Adventist College Receives $2.1 Million Technology Grant

This grant will modernize Oakwood's technology platform by providing access to computers

Oakwood College, a Seventh-day Adventist tertiary institution in Huntsville, Alabama, will receive a $2.114 million Technology Enhancement Capital Campaign grant from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) in conjunction with Microsoft and IBM to strengthen its technology capacities.

“This grant will modernize Oakwood’s technology platform by providing access to computers, creating an e-commerce site at UNCF making available the latest hardware and software at a reduced cost for all students, faculty and administrators,” explains Dr. Timothy McDonald, Executive Director for Information Technology. “Overall this program seeks to close the digital divide between technology rich schools and UNCF institutions.” [Tim Allston]
