Seventy-one preachers and church workers from the Botswana Union Conference have deployed across northern Botswana for a week of home visitation, prayer, and personal ministry, spanning a geographical corridor from Dibete, Botswana in the south to communities beyond Shakawe, Botswana on the country's north-western border.

The deployment, held from June 21-27, 2026, under the Impact North Botswana Conference stewardship initiative, took the Church's stewardship teaching out of the pulpit and into the everyday spaces of members' lives. Participants visited homes, businesses, farms, ranches, and kraals, listening to members, offering encouragement, and praying for families, livelihoods, and livestock.

The initiative gave practical expression to the biblical understanding of stewardship as encompassing more than financial giving. Members were reminded that their lives, abilities, opportunities, and resources are entrusted to them by God, and pastors gained a deeper appreciation of the realities and challenges facing families across the vast northern territory of Botswana.

The initiative was strongly supported by Botswana Union Conference president Phemelo Seboka, who called for participation to extend beyond the pastoral workforce. Officers, departmental directors, and other non-pastoral leaders were encouraged to join the outreach.

"Member unity and spirituality responds to the leadership example," Seboka said.

His remarks reflected a central conviction behind the initiative: unity within the Church must be intentionally modeled by its leaders. By deploying workers from different areas of responsibility to serve together across an unfamiliar territory, the initiative sought to demonstrate that the Adventist Church in Botswana shares one mission.

The diversity of ministry settings was one of the defining features of the week. In some communities, church workers sat with families in their homes. Elsewhere, they visited business premises and prayed with owners and staff. On farms and ranches, prayers were offered for members and their work. At kraals, church workers prayed for livestock and the families whose livelihoods depend on them, a ministry of presence rooted in the cultural realities of rural Botswana.

As the initiative concluded on June 27, church leadership described the deployment as evidence of the potential of intentional pastoral presence combined with united leadership. Participants returned to their regular areas of service carrying stories and experiences from the communities they had visited across northern Botswana.
