The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Finland is broadcasting church worship services live via the Internet. The ground-breaking project, which was launched at the beginning of this year, allows Internet viewers to watch Sabbath, or Saturday, worship services, as well as special programs held in the Helsinki Adventist Church.
The church in Helsinki is “very international,” with Swedish, English, Russian, and many other languages appearing frequently, says Henrik Ingo of Media7. Media7, which coordinates the Internet broadcasts, is a media center that operates out of the headquarters of the Adventist Church in Finland.
Miroslav Pujic, communication director for the Adventist Church in the trans-European region, says that the Helsinki Adventist Church has recognized “the value and importance of using new technology.
“I hope that such a ministry will encourage our churches throughout this region to begin, or further develop, this method of outreach,” he adds.
