Several AdventHealth hospitals received top billing as "Best Regional Hospital" in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals rankings.
AdventHealth Orlando, which ranked No. 1 in the metro Orlando area for the 14th consecutive year, AdventHealth Daytona Beach, AdventHealth Tampa and AdventHealth Redmond (Georgia) all stood out as best hospitals in the regions where they are located. It was also the fourth consecutive year as top hospital in the Deltona-Daytona Beach metro area for AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
AdventHealth Orlando was also ranked among the top 50 in the nation in four clinical specialties:
Diabetes and endocrinology
Neurology and neurosurgery
Obstetrics and gynecology
Ear, nose, and throat.
The hospital was also rated as high-performing in seven additional specialties – cancer; cardiology, heart and vascular surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; orthopedics; pulmonology and lung surgery; and urology – and 15 procedures and/or conditions. The recognition applies to all AdventHealth hospitals in the metro Orlando area, which include AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, AdventHealth Apopka, AdventHealth Celebration, AdventHealth East Orlando, AdventHealth Kissimmee, AdventHealth Winter Garden, and AdventHealth Winter Park.
Including AdventHealth Orlando, 25 of AdventHealth’s hospitals received a rating of high-performing in one or more procedures and/or conditions.
U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions; only 11% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at such factors as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.
“For 35 years, U.S. News has been a leading resource for patients navigating their health care decisions,” said Ben Harder, U.S. News managing editor and chief of health analysis. “A 'Best Hospital' recognition empowers patients to seek out medical care from the best of the best to treat their illness or condition.”
To calculate the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
This year, among other methodology refinements, U.S. News incorporated new data on care provided to patients with Medicare Advantage insurance and on care provided to outpatients, nearly doubling the number of patients included in its annual data analysis.
