Baptisms and a church dedication in Papua New Guinea

Many people gathered to witness the dedication of the Boroi Seventh-day Adventist Church in Madang, Papua New Guinea, on September 1. People came from as far as Madang Town; sister churches around the Bogia district and people from other denominations within the district were also present. Among the crowd were government representatives, including the President of the Yawar local-level government.

The service was led by Pastor Garry Laukei, the Madang Manus Mission President, who was assisted by Mission CFO Nelson Karis and Volunteer Coordinator Kenneth Kuas. In his presentation, Pastor Laukei thanked the members of the Boroi church for their dedication, sacrifice, and time in building the church. It took church members 19 years to complete the building, which is the first and biggest permanent church in the Bogia district.

A special part of the ceremony was the baptism of 43 people into the church. Another 63 people took their stand for Jesus in desiring to be baptized in the near future.
