Pastor Ted Wilson would always talk about the three angels' messages in his weekly videos. Why not? For a world in crisis, words of hope and love are urgently needed.

In fact, Ellen White has a reminder about this in her book, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 19.

She says, "In a special sense, Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world as watchmen and light-bearers. To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining wonderful light from the word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import—the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels' messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention. The most solemn truths ever entrusted to mortals have been given us to proclaim to the world. The proclamation of these truths is to be our work."

True enough, the three angels' messages have been part of our preaching for a long time. Yet, how much do we know about them? Can we explain them to other people?

To help us with this, in this episode, Pastor Ted and his wife, Nancy, talk about the importance of prayer and fasting in witnessing.

Prayer helps us understand Bible truth better, grow in faith amid life's difficulties, and obtain power from the Holy Spirit to become effective witnesses.

But why does it include fasting? We fast because we are in earnest for God's blessing. It's not an option. Instead, it's a given response to our love for Him.

With this, we are advised by the Counsels on Diet and Foods, pp. 188, 189: "Now and onward till the close of time the people of God should be more earnest, more wide-awake, not trusting in their own wisdom, but in the wisdom of their Leader. They should set aside days for fasting and prayer. Entire abstinence from food may not be required, but they should eat sparingly of the most simple food."

Meanwhile, it's important to remember that fasting is more than just skipping meals. It's more on choosing to sacrifice something to pray more intentionally with heart and soul. But it's not about earning a heavenly reward. Instead, the goal is to remove distractions so we can seek Jesus wholeheartedly.

With this, Pastor Ted invites you to be part of this special day of prayer and fasting. As Matthew 18:19-20 says, "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

Now is the time to share God's final messages of hope and salvation. There's no time to delay. Hence, don't miss the blessings God has in store for you as we come together in fasting and prayer.
