Seventh-day Adventist churches across the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) marked enditnow® Emphasis Day, observed annually on the fourth Saturday of August, with programs to support people affected by abuse, violence, neglect, and injustice.

This year’s theme, “Moved with Compassion,” focused on following the teachings and example of Jesus by recognizing the God-given value and dignity of every person and expressing compassion through intentional action.

Across the NSD territory, churches organized sermons and seminars, visited shelters, reached out to vulnerable individuals and families, and created opportunities to speak out on behalf of those who are unable to speak for themselves. Through these programs, churches aimed to emphasize their role as safe spaces where everyone can experience acceptance, hope, healing, protection, and justice.

The enditnow® Emphasis Day programs supported NSD’s ongoing #BeTheVoice campaign, which encourages church members not to remain silent in the face of abuse and injustice. The campaign calls members to listen to people who are hurting, advocate for them, offer protection, and take meaningful action.

The NSD Women’s Ministries department developed the #BeTheVoice initiative in collaboration with other departments to emphasize the Church’s responsibility to reflect both God’s love and His justice. The initiative aims to present compassion as love expressed through deliberate action.

“Through #BeTheVoice, I hope our churches will become communities where compassion can be seen, heard, and experienced in everyday life,” said Raquel Arrais, NSD Women’s Ministries director. “May every person find hope, healing, dignity, love, and justice within our churches.”
