On September 22, 2025, the Pênfigo Adventist Hospital (HAP) received the "Friend of Transplant" Legislative Merit Award during a formal session in the Deputy Júlio Maia Plenary of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Legislative Assembly.

Created by Resolution 32/2019 and proposed by Deputy Renato Câmara, 1st Vice President of the House, the award recognizes individuals and institutions that stand out in promoting organ and tissue donation and transplantation in the state.

The ceremony was organized in partnership with the Mato Grosso do Sul State Transplant Center (CET-MS) and the Fratello Association, bringing together authorities, patients' families, health representatives, and guests.

HAP was represented by its general director, Everton Martin, who emphasized the importance of the cause.

"Donating organs is donating life. A year ago, we launched our liver transplant service, an unprecedented milestone in Mato Grosso do Sul. Since then, more than 50 surgeries have been performed, offering new opportunities to dozens of people. Receiving this honor reinforces our commitment to serving the community with excellence and purpose," he added.

In just 12 months, HAP has established itself as a reference in liver transplants in the state, also gaining national visibility for its work.

On the occasion, the transplant physician and technical manager, Dr. Gustavo Alves Rapassi, was also honored with the diploma, in recognition of his dedication and commitment to liver patients.

Representative Renato Câmara, the bill's author, emphasized the value of honoring those who make a difference.

"Organ donation isn't just an isolated act. It saves lives today, but it also builds stories, strengthens families, and projects futures. The recognition of the Adventist Pemphigus Hospital symbolizes the efforts of everyone who transforms solidarity into a lasting legacy," he declared.
