More than 200 young volunteers from Peru, joined by 50 from Brazil, brought energy and service to Cusco in July through Mission Caleb (Caleb Mission), a Seventh-day Adventist Church initiative in South America that mobilizes young people for acts of community service and outreach.

Service Across the City

From early morning, volunteers deployed to three locations, Velasco Astete Avenue, Huasa Huara Ecosystem Park, and Circunvalación Avenue, working with the city’s Environmental Department to clean sidewalks, paint trees, prune and water green areas, and collect waste.

In partnership with the San Antonio Health Center, the Caleb Mission team also organized a voluntary blood donation drive, recognizing that giving life physically is another way to share the gospel message.

Quoting Mark 10:45, organizers emphasized that service follows the example of Christ, who “did not come to be served, but to serve.”

For the city known as the “Imperial City” of the Inca Empire, Caleb Mission became more than an urban improvement project, it was a public expression of faith, unity, and hope. Volunteers’ efforts demonstrated that cultural and linguistic differences are no barrier to showing God’s love in action.
