As part of their comprehensive commitment, Adventist youth participating in the Caleb Mission program, which promotes service and voluntary evangelism during summer vacation, carried out a series of projects focused on caring for the environment in Lima, the capital of Peru.
On July 29, 2024, participants engaged in various activities, including park maintenance, tree planting, street sweeping, and cleaning archaeological sites.
This event seeks to raise community awareness about the importance of preserving and caring for the environment. San Pedro Park was one of the settings for the project, which focused on improving the area and educating and motivating local residents to be part of the change.
In addition to the activities in Ancón, the volunteers also extended their efforts to other points in East Lima. In the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, volunteers cleaned avenues such as the busy Ramiro Prialé. Similarly, in the district of Huaycán, they carried out cleaning and maintenance tasks.
In the province of Huaraz, the volunteers dedicated themselves to cleaning the Vista Flores sports field. Thousands of young people, equipped with shovels, brooms, wheelbarrows, and other tools, demonstrated their commitment to the environment through these actions.
This effort is part of a series of activities planned by the Caleb Mission project, which aims to promote volunteerism and public evangelism among Adventist youth. Throughout the remainder of the project, they will participate in other activities, such as donations of food, books, and blood.
