For its 2025 ranking, Forbes Advisor reviewed more than 400 online MBA programs nationwide, assessing affordability, student outcomes, curriculum structure, and the quality of online engagement. WAU’s accelerated MBA was recognized as a mission-driven, market-responsive program designed to serve working professionals.
Program distinctions
The program features affordable tuition, making WAU one of the more accessible Christian-based MBA options in the nation. Designed to be flexible and fast, it offers multiple annual start dates and eight-week sessions, allowing students to complete their degree in as little as 12 months.
With 72 percent of its graduate population enrolled in distance education, WAU has also developed a robust and supportive online learning ecosystem.
In addition, students can choose from career-focused concentrations in Management, Finance, or Organizational Leadership, each integrating values-based leadership with real-world application.
Leadership perspectives
“This distinction affirms the strength, relevance, and rigor of our program,” said Joyce Johnson, dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff, and to the success of our students.”
“Being named among the top online M.B.A. programs in the country reaffirms WAU’s mission to deliver transformational education,” added Weymouth Spence, president of Washington Adventist University. “Our accelerated model empowers students to earn their degree while balancing work, life, and faith.”
WAU is also the only Seventh-day Adventist institution represented on the 2025 Forbes Advisor top-10 list, underscoring WAU’s distinct place in faith-based higher education.
WAU, founded in 1904, is a private university with a liberal arts tradition, offering a dynamic blend of professional and liberal arts undergraduate and graduate programs.
