For the fourth time in a row, Waldfriede Hospital has been named one of the best hospitals in the world by the renowned magazine Newsweek. In the current "World's Best Hospitals" study, Waldfriede is thus also one of the 2,000 leading hospitals in the world in 2024. In addition, Waldfriede Hospital once again received the award as one of the best hospitals in Germany from the Institute of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) - also for the fourth time in a row. It is particularly noteworthy that several doctors from Waldfriede Hospital are listed as Top physicians in the FOCUS Health list of doctors for 2024.
CEO Bernd Quoß emphasizes: “These ratings reflect the trust that patients have in our Waldfriede hospital and in the competence of our doctors. We are very grateful to God that Waldfriede is once again one of the world's best hospitals and that our head physicians are among the top doctors. The individual person is always at the center of our service. Love for God and his people characterize all our efforts to heal and also to accompany them in difficult phases of life. May God continue to bless us in this.”
Waldfriede Hospital
Founded in 1920 by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the 175-bed hospital is the second oldest hospital in Berlin after the Charité, which has been at the same location under the same ownership for over 100 years. According to Quoß, Waldfriede and its associated facilities treat around 15,000 inpatients and 150,000 outpatients every year. The non-profit hospital is located in Berlin-Zehlendorf and is an academic teaching hospital of Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin as well as a European training centre for surgical techniques in coloproctology.
The hospital is part of the Waldfriede health network, which also includes a psychiatric-psychosomatic day clinic, a social care center, an academy for training nursing staff, a service company, a retirement home, the "PrimaVita" health center, the Nikolassee private clinic, a day care centre, and the "Desert Flower Center". The Waldfriede health network is the most diverse medical and care provider in southwest Berlin and, with around 950 employees, is one of the largest employers in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.
