U.S. Paralympics Cycling and Loma Linda University Health PossAbilities today announced the PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial, the only domestic Paralympic Para-cycling Qualifying Race leading up to the Paralympic Games Paris 2024. This event will commence on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. in Loma Linda, California, and promises to showcase the United States’ top Para-cyclists.

The PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial represents a significant milestone in PossAbilities' commitment to promoting Para sports and fostering a supportive environment for elite athletes on the pathway to the Paralympics. As a premier healthcare provider dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, PossAbilities recognizes the importance of opportunities for Para athletes to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level.

"We are honored to host the PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial and provide a platform for the nation’s best Para athletes to demonstrate their exceptional skills," said Lyndon Edwards, Chief operating officer of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals. “These remarkable athletes inspire us all by redefining the possibilities for individuals with disabilities.”

The PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial will feature approximately 40-50 participants from across the nation vying for a chance to represent Team USA this summer. Athletes will compete in various classifications, showcasing their speed, endurance, and strategic prowess as they navigate a course that passes through Loma Linda University Health Campus and runs into the city of Loma Linda.

“On behalf of all of our athletes competing for one of the coveted Paris 2024 roster spots, we are so excited to race in Loma Linda,” Ian Lawless, director of U.S. Paralympics Cycling, said. “Our partners in the community have embraced our program and the Paralympic Movement as a whole, and we expect to put on a show for the fans in attendance.”

Spectators are encouraged to explore the race expo or line the course and cheer for our nation’s elite Para-cyclists. U.S. Paralympics Cycling will announce the athletes named to Team USA for the 2024 Paralympics on Monday, July 8, at Loma Linda University Health.
