The Adventist University of São Paulo (UNASP) held its first medical entrance exam on February 2. The test was administered in the Brazilian cities of Hortolândia and São Paulo, with 344 candidates registered for the 60 vacancies.
The entrance exam was developed in partnership with the Carlos Chagas Foundation, which specializes in administering entrance exams and public exams. The exam was taken by candidates from several states in Brazil and other countries, which confirms the cultural diversity that has always been present on its campuses.
The test lasted five hours. Candidates answered 80 questions on Portuguese language and literature, English language, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, history, and geography, in addition to writing an essay.
While the candidates took the test, their parents, who accompanied them to the location, watched a program organized especially for them. Dr. Martin Kuhn, dean of UNASP, presented the institution, while the coordinators of the Medical program provided details about the schedule, classes, and the grading system.

Those who took the entrance exam received the answer key the day after the test and are awaiting the official results, which will be made available by the institution on February 17, 2025. Starting on February 18, those who passed will be able to enroll in the course. Classes will begin on February 23 with the inaugural lecture.
Academic Structure and Partnerships
The UNASP Medical Program, offered at the Hortolândia campus, in the interior of São Paulo, has a large infrastructure of laboratories designed for theoretical and practical study, equipped with modern equipment to improve student learning.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to apply, in practice, the concepts learned throughout the disciplines. For this, the Surgical Skills and Research laboratories will be available.
The course will focus on practical training, with students joining the Unified Health System (SUS) network from the first semester. UNASP has already signed agreements with hospitals, Basic Health Units (UBS), Emergency Care Units (UPA) and Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), as well as Adventist Health hospitals in Brazil and the Adventist health network around the world.
The institution also established partnerships with the Mário Covas Municipal Hospital and Maternity Hospital, the Campinas Brotherhood of Mercy, the Royal Portuguese Charity Hospital of Campinas, and other hospitals in the metropolitan region of Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo.
In addition to preparing excellent professionals to serve communities and bring quality of life to patients, one of the course's objectives is to train doctors to contribute to the medical missionary work carried out by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which supports the educational institution. This historic work of providing care in various regions of the world has benefited thousands of people over the last few decades.
