The Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences is actively developing international relations with educational institutions associated with the Adventist Church, particularly Sahmyook University in South Korea.

Andrii Shevchuk, the head of the educational complex, highlighted that cooperation with Sahmyook University has been ongoing for several years, underpinned by shared values and mutual accreditation from the Adventist Accrediting Association. However, this partnership was elevated in August 2023 following Shevchuk's official visit to the South Korean institution.
The collaboration encompasses both academic and financial dimensions. In the academic sphere, the institutions are working towards an international student exchange program, a common practice among Adventist-accredited schools. While a memorandum of understanding has been signed to facilitate exchanges, ongoing conflicts in Ukraine have temporarily suspended these efforts.

The institute is optimistic about future collaborations, hoping to enable South Korean students to study in Ukraine and facilitate opportunities for Ukrainian students at Sahmyook University. Currently, the institute is re-accrediting courses and exchanging educational experiences with its South Korean counterpart.
Moreover, Sahmyook University has provided financial assistance to the institute, which has been directed towards modernizing its IT department. Given that many students are engaged in online study, improving internet services and resources has been vital. The partnership has allowed the Ukrainian institution to upgrade computer lab equipment and acquire necessary software.

Looking ahead, the Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences plans to maintain contact with Sahmyook University and is working to establish educational programs, including Korean language courses.
Additionally, plans are in place to launch a licensed educational program, with engagement from qualified specialists. However, current travel restrictions imposed by the South Korean embassy on its citizens visiting Ukraine have put some initiatives on hold. Despite these challenges, the institute remains hopeful for a deeper cooperation with Sahmyook University in the future.
