Thousands of Adventist Youth in Peru Mobilize for Global Youth Day

Through cleanup efforts, social outreach, and evangelism, young volunteers in Peru put faith into action, serving vulnerable groups and promoting community transformation.

As part of Global Youth Day (GYD), nearly 4,000 young people and 2,000 pathfinders from the Photo: West Central Peru Mission took to the streets on March 9, 2025, with the goal of transforming their communities through acts of service and evangelism.

With brooms in hand, the volunteers carried out cleanup activities in parks, beaches, sports fields, and neighborhoods in cities such as Lima, Chimbote, and Huacho.

Under the global theme "A Community Transformed" and the regional theme "Together on the Move," young people not only focused on improving the environment but also on serving vulnerable groups.

In collaboration with soup kitchens and in partnership with the local Ombudsman's Office, they promoted community service projects in areas where the Adventist Church has an active presence. Additionally, Pathfinders, a youth movement within the church, joined the "Pathfinders for a Day" initiative, promoting values of service and leadership.

GYD's activities were not limited to cleanup and social outreach. In the afternoons, the youth also participated in community service projects, and in the evenings, they held evangelistic programs in plazas and public spaces, sharing the Word of God inside and outside the church.

This initiative wasn't limited to a single day; throughout the week, until March 15, they particpated in various impactful in-person and virtual activities, promoting service and love for others. This commitment to the community is one of the characteristics that distinguishes Seventh-day Adventist youth, who celebrate their day by serving others.
