In a bold visual display of faith and unity, the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) captivated thousands at the 62nd General Conference Session with its thematic video report centered on Harvest 2025, a division-wide evangelistic initiative aimed at reaping a bountiful spiritual harvest in the 10/40 Window.
The highlight of the SSD’s presentation was the appearance of a life-sized carabao — a traditional farming symbol in Southeast Asia — pulled onto center stage. This powerful visual metaphor emphasized the campaign’s theme, calling members to labor together in the mission field for the final harvest.
“Our mission is not just to sow, but to harvest,” said SSD president Roger Caderma during his address. “Just as farmers unite in the field, every believer is called to join in this divine assignment. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will bring more people to Jesus.”
Clad in traditional farmer attire representing the diverse cultures across the region, SSD delegates entered the stage during the musical segment “Forward by Faith,” symbolizing solidarity, dedication, and the collective commitment of all territories to the gospel mandate. Flags and farming garments from countries including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam filled the stage, creating a vibrant tapestry of mission focus.
A Narrative Rooted in the Field
Anchoring the report in the parable of the growing seed from Mark 4:26–29, the presentation was structured around five sequential phases: Prepare, Plant, Cultivate, Harvest, and Preserve. Through stories and interviews from across the division, each phase illustrated how mission efforts are being carried out on the ground.
Prepare: The segment opened with humanitarian and social outreach response work and ministries among displaced people, including the story of Maya, a young refugee girl impacted by cross-border conflict in Myanmar and Thailand.
Plant: It followed with digital evangelism efforts and testimonies in Timor-Leste, including Nathanael’s journey of discovering the truth online and how social media ministries, literature evangelists, and creative platforms are sowing seeds of faith.
Cultivate: The spotlight turned to community engagement, particularly among the elderly in Singapore, and the role of volunteers, new hospitals, and mission realignment in deepening gospel roots.
Harvest: A testimony from a Thai convert symbolized the fruition of these efforts, with a montage of division-wide evangelistic campaigns and baptisms across Southeast Asia.
Preserve: The final section emphasized nurturing new believers through discipleship programs, training, and revival series — ensuring the harvest is not just gathered but also sustained.
Forward Together in Faith
The segment concluded with a resounding rendition of “Forward by Faith,” during which SSD delegates marched across the stage, illustrating the collaborative spirit of the division. The crowd joined in the song’s final chorus, lifting a unified voice of hope and commitment.
“This is the Southern Asia-Pacific Division Report,” Pastor Caderma affirmed in his closing words. “A flourishing basket brimming with God’s love and grace. Though challenges lie ahead, we remain committed to planting seeds, nurturing growth, and joyfully reaping the harvest — until Jesus comes.”
