The South East Malagasy Conference (SEMC) held its inaugural Pathfinder Camporee in Madagascar, bringing together approximately 1,700 young people.

The Camporee ran from August 2–9, 2026, under the theme "Moving Forward with Confidence," inspired by the story of Moses. The event was centered on spiritual growth, outdoor living, learning, teamwork, and community building.

Jean Francois Ramandimbiarison, SEMC Youth Ministries director, known in Pathfinder circles by his club name, Chief Babouin Inébranlable (Chief Unshakeable Baboon), urged participants to move forward with confidence and fulfill the mission entrusted to them.

Haja Raharijaona, Indian Ocean Union Conference (IOUC) Youth Ministries director, known within Pathfinder circles as Chief Espadon Fulgurant (Chief Lightning Swordfish), challenged Pathfinders to continue expanding their ministry into the wider community.

Raharijaona said Pathfinder clubs are increasingly reaching beyond the Adventist Church and into the wider community, while young people are being called to continue the mission Jesus entrusted to His disciples by uniting their voices through the world Church’s OneVoice27 initiative. The goal, he said, is not simply to amplify the voices of young people, but to unite them as one voice.

SEMC is the newest of Madagascar's Adventist administrative territories. The inaugural Camporee marks a significant milestone in the Conference's growing engagement with its young members.
