On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Sabrina C. DeSouza as an associate treasurer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

DeSouza brings more than 30 years of experience in financial leadership, most recently serving for 21 years as vice president for financial administration and chief financial officer at Oakwood University. Under her tenure, she helped guide the institution’s fiscal strategy, compliance, and operations through periods of growth and change.

DeSouza began her ministry in 1989 as an auditor for the General Conference, where she served for seven years before being called to Oakwood—then a college—as chief accountant. She rose through the ranks, holding positions such as assistant vice president and controller before her appointment as CFO in 2002.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Adventist University and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama.

DeSouza is married to John DeSouza, and together they have two adult children, Brandon and Brianna.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
