Roger Omallao Caderma has been elected as president of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church during the 62nd General Conference Session held in St. Louis, Missouri.

The SSD Nominating Committee caucus had convened on Monday, July 7, 2025, consisting of 20 members, including four advisors, to discuss the leaders of the church in the Southern Asia-Pacific region. This body makes a recommendation to the GC Session Nominating Committee.

Caderma will continue to lead the SSD, a territory that spans 11 countries, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, many within the 10/40 Window, an area that presents both missional challenges and rich opportunities for evangelism.

Born in Baladjay, San Remigio, Antique, Philippines, Caderma originally pursued a degree in agriculture technology at Central Philippine Adventist College. However, a strong sense of calling led him to shift toward ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theology from Mountain View College, followed by a master’s degree in public health from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in 1999. He later received certification in Trust Services and Planned Giving in 2005.

Caderma began full-time ministry in 1988 and has since served in various roles—district pastor, director for departments, and mission and union president. His leadership trajectory includes serving the Southern Mindanao Mission, South Philippine Union Conference, and the SSD as vice president for NDR-IEL. He was first elected SSD president during the 2022 General Conference Session in St. Louis.

Known for his passion for evangelism and infrastructure development, Caderma has strengthened church growth across diverse cultural and religious contexts. His leadership has helped mobilize members for integrated evangelistic efforts, leadership training, and local church development throughout Southeast Asia.

He is also a proponent of wellness and community-building among church workers, promoting sports and healthy lifestyles as part of wholistic ministry.

Caderma is married to Danita Perez Caderma, who serves as the SSD Children’s Ministries director and Ministerial Spouse Coordinator. They have two children—Keenen Glee and Kenphil Boone—and four grandchildren.
