‘Power, Purpose, Plan’: Adventist General Conference Vice President Message Emphasizes Mission for All Believers

During the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) Year-End Executive Committee, Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Vice President Saw Samuel delivered the message titled “The Power to Witness, The Purpose to Witness, The Plan to Witness.” In his sermon, Samuel reminded delegates that witnessing is not merely about preaching; it is a deeply personal expression of love and compassion for those who have not yet experienced Christ.

Drawing from the story of his father’s conversion, Samuel illustrated that "mission itself is a miracle, born of divine power and personal transformation."

“Every believer,” he emphasized, “is called to be part of that miracle.”

He called division leaders to live a life where faith and action are inseparable; an integrated life of mission that reaches beyond words to touch hearts and transform communities. His message resonated deeply with leaders, reinforcing the call for the SID to remain grounded in the Bible, focused on the mission, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The sermon’s message came at a significant time for the division, as preparations intensify for Impact Mozambique 2026, an evangelistic movement scheduled for May next year.

Impact is the division’s flagship initiative designed to model practical mission, motivate members for soul-winning, and foster collaboration across unions by bringing them together in one chosen territory for greater outreach and exchange of ideas.

Through Impact Mozambique, leaders aim to demonstrate that when Adventists unite in purpose and passion, evangelism becomes a lifestyle. Impact 2025 was held in the Indian Ocean Union Conference, covering Mauritius, Seychelles, Réunion, Mayotte, and Madagascar, and a total of 22,260 people were baptized.

Leaders say Samuel's message thus served as both a reminder and a rallying call, "That the power, purpose, and plan to witness are not limited to the pulpit but are to be lived daily by every believer who longs to see lives transformed by Christ’s love," they said.
