At the New Generation Seventh-day Adventist Church in North Miami, Florida, the Pentecost 2025 series, “We Are Nearing Home,” held from January 3 to February 25, 2025, became a powerful outpouring of God’s Spirit that continues to bear fruit today, leaders say.
What began as a local evangelistic effort quickly became a global movement. Through online streaming, the series reached more than 58,000 viewers across nine countries, spreading messages of hope, healing, and restoration. As the weeks unfolded, nine people publicly expressed their decisions to follow Christ through baptism.
Church leaders said each baptism reflected a personal faith journey. One young person, once burdened by years of abuse and suicidal thoughts, found hope in Christ during the series. Following their baptism, they are now actively serving in youth ministry, determined to lead others to the same healing they have found, they say.
Another man shared that after finding the New Generation Seventh-day Adventist Church online, he responded to the invitation and was baptized. He was baptized along with his wife. She also added that her sister chose to be baptized after learning about her experience.
A 16-year-old attendee traveled approximately 120 miles each weekend to participate in the meetings, and later joined others in baptism.
In preparation for the series, the congregation held a week of prayer and coordinated member involvement throughout the evangelistic meetings. Following the conclusion of the series, the church said it is focusing on discipleship support for new members and ongoing engagement with guests who participated in person and online.
