The Seventh-day Adventist Church, with the objective of reaching every heart with the message of hope, has preached the Gospel to the southernmost part of the world thanks to the efforts of multiple brothers.

Pastor Edgar Bosisio, of the South Austral Chile Conference (ASACh), has been a faithful servant of Christ who has worked for several years in the southernmost district in the world: Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica.

Cape Horn is the last territory south of the South American continent. It is considered the Everest of navigators—a secluded space to where Pastor Bosisio has been extended an invitation by the Chilean Navy to share the Gospel.

It is part of the bimonthly visits made by the Chilean Navy to the sea municipalities in the extreme south of the country to supply food, water, and oil. In addition, various necessity efforts and medical rounds are carried out in these municipalities. The sea mayor's offices are Navy departments made up of a sailor and his family, whose purpose is to exercise sovereignty and control maritime traffic in that region.

The Message at Cape Horn

In August 2023, God provided an ideal opportunity to share the message with the community through a special invitation from the Chilean Navy, requesting Pastor Bosisio's visit to Cape Horn aboard one of their ships.

Pastor Bosisio decided to transform this opportunity into a missionary trip. He prepared a bag for each family in the townships, where he placed the book The Great Controversy, material for children, and Bible studies; he also took copies of the book for each member of the crew of the ship that would take him on this missionary experience.

On Monday, August 7, Pastor Bosisio embarked on the General Services Patrol Ship (PSG) Aspirante Isaza from Puerto Williams, bound for Puerto Toro; the ship then began its four-day voyage to Cape Horn to continue to the municipalities of Wollaston Island, Lennox Island, New Island, Snipe Island, and Picton Island, then returned to Puerto Williams.

Sharing with the Community

In each of the town halls, Pastor Bosisio was able to share with the families who live there and was always very well received as he gave them the bag with the gifts and prayed with each one of them, together with the Navy personnel who also went down to the town halls to carry out their work.

Several of the families are evangelical; even one of the sea mayors declared that in his childhood and youth, he was an Adventist. For this reason, Pastor Bosisio, motivated by the opportunity to share the message, took the opportunity to invite him to return to the Adventist Church; they exchanged phone numbers.

At the end of the trip, the commander of the ship, Lieutenant Commander Alejandro Reinoso, gathered all the crew, and Pastor Bosisio was able to give each one The Great Controversy and pray with all of them.

This type of opportunity is undoubtedly of great value for the Adventist community, which thanks God for the privilege of taking the Gospel to the southernmost part of the South American continent.
