Sandro Costa, pastor of the Águas Claras district, explained that the idea of dinner with Novo Tempo guests came about due to the large number of registered people asking for Bible studies. “So, with this movement, it was possible for these people to be served directly by church members,” he explained.

“The expectation is that, after the lecture, these guests will accept Jesus’ invitation to study the Bible,” said Costa.

Darleide Alves, radio and TV presenter for Novo Tempo, spoke about love, its importance, and attention to family relationships. In this sense, the unique love of Christ was highlighted at the meeting.

During the event, Darleide shared her personal experience. She talked about how she overcame life's traumas and what it was like to give her life to the ways of Jesus. With advice and suggestions, the presenter and family mentor emphasized that in a world full of demands and distractions, family time is crucial to generating real connections.

Darleide also recalled that in the most difficult moments, it is possible to find comfort in faith and the presence of Christ.

“Family gives us structure; it means giving us a sense of our identity. It is in the family that we have our first lessons about who we are and why we came to exist. But when this fails in the family, we are left with the encounter with Jesus to restore, complete, and reaffirm,” explained Darleide.

For her, “the great reality is that our identity is planted in love. When we understand and are loved by our family, we have physical, mental, and spiritual health.”

Value of Family Love

In this sense, Darleide stated that the family is the opportunity to know God's love in a practical way. “That’s why I speak with so much love to families, so that there is God in their homes so that they can fulfill their mission,” she said.

She further explained that the meeting is special. “We get to know each other, get closer and offer the best we have: Jesus”, she highlighted. In this sense, she also said that offering a hug, affection, and smile, in addition to dinner, is “an opportunity to say: come and see, get to know the God that we have known. And it was beautiful, everything was very special.”

Leila Aragão, stock manager and guest, explained that she was registered with Novo Tempo and the first contact from the Adventist Church was by phone, after which she received an invitation, the book The Great Controversy, and a magazine. “I arrived and was very well received and welcomed, I saw that everything was prepared with great care and her words were not even spoken”, she said.

“What she said was very specific these days, we really need to listen. Because, really, it has been lost, people have been busy with other things and have left this personal contact there. In fact, exchanging it for cell phones, for TV”, highlighted the guest.

She also said that she really liked it. According to her, the lecture helped her “begin to wake up to other things and change. We need to take all this knowledge and bring it to other people.”

“Today I leave feeling light, happy with this word and overflowing with joy. It really touched me, it spoke to me a lot,” she concluded. Leila, in addition to wanting to participate in other events, accepted the invitation to study the Bible.

“I will certainly leave here more motivated to be connected with my daughter, just as she spoke of the importance of being connected heart to heart”, highlighted Jaíne.

An Education of Principles

Águas Claras Adventist School had the opportunity to take some parents of its students who already had contact with TV Novo Tempo. This provided greater interaction and the knowledge that school and church go together to form good citizens.

“They were able to have a very special encounter with God and some of them agreed to continue the learning process through Bible study”, explained the school unit's chaplain, Leandro Araújo.

Christ at the Center

During the meeting, guests learned that love nourishes and unites, but love based on Christ magnifies, strengthens and saves. The meetings resulted in the definition of the importance of Jesus' love, which exceeds any need for family forgiveness.
