A new music-documentary project, “History(ies) of Praise and Worship,” celebrates six decades of musical ministry by Seventh-day Adventist pastor, pianist, and composer Williams Costa Júnior, whose work helped shape the sound and identity of Adventist worship in Brazil. Bringing together new interpretations of songs that have marked generations, the project offers a historical and emotional portrait of faith expressed in music.

Recorded at the Adventist University Center of São Paulo (UNASP), Engenheiro Coelho campus church, and at the Novo Tempo studios, in São Paulo, the project brings together three generations of performers.

Veteran artists include Alessandra Samadello, Arautos do Rei, Sonete, Luiz Cláudio, and Costa Júnior. They are joined by a second cohort—Laura Morena, Daniel Lüdtke, Rafaela Pinho, Jeferson Pillar, Riane Junqueira, Tatiana Costa, Marcel Freire, and Joyce Carnassale—and emerging voices such as Weslley Fonseca, Michely Manuely, John & Andrea, Fellype Macedo, Gabriella Stehling, and Guilherme Leite.

The project revisits significant moments in Adventist music in Brazil, including the evangelistic series of pastor Alejandro Bullón, Williams Costa Júnior, and Sonete, as well as landmark projects such as Revive, Projeto Sol, Programa Está Escrito, and the camp meetings in Itabuna and Brasília.

The musical documentary also highlights projects like the Family Praise Encounter (ELEF) and presents testimonies of lives transformed by the sung message.

Directed by Tuiu Costa, the film takes the audience on an inspiring journey, intertwining history, legacy, and discipleship. The musical accompaniment features the UNASP Philharmonic Orchestra and musicians from the Czech Republic and Russia. The release is part of the 110th-anniversary celebrations of the Adventist University Center of São Paulo in partnership with the Novo Tempo Record Label.

The premiere featured a unique concert at the UNASP São Paulo Church , and the music documentary was released on the Novo Tempo YouTube channel.

Novo Tempo is a Portuguese Christian TV channel and Radio Station for Brazil. It is owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
