On May 30, 2025, Mountain View College (MVC) in the Philippines held a groundbreaking ceremony for its upcoming Hemodialysis Building at the MVC Annex Campus.

Leaders state that the groundbreaking marks a significant step in the school’s effort to serve the community through quality health care and Christ-centered compassion.

The event gathered key stakeholders, including MVC officers, faculty, and staff from the School of Nursing (SON) and the School of Theology (SOT), department representatives, and community partners supporting the institution’s holistic education and service mission.

Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) Health Ministries Director Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso joined the ceremony as guest of honor, alongside Central Mindanao Mission (CMM) President Porferio Lagunday, both expressing strong support for MVC’s expansion of its healthcare services. They emphasized the importance of Adventist institutions contributing not only to education but also to the physical and spiritual well-being of the people they serve.

“This building represents more than just bricks and mortar,” said Alfanoso. “It reflects our deep belief in Jesus as the Master Healer, and our duty to extend His healing ministry in practical, tangible ways.”

The planned facility aims to provide accessible dialysis care, especially for patients in remote areas of Bukidnon and surrounding provinces, where such medical services remain limited. Once completed, the center will serve as a learning hub for student nurses while offering life-sustaining treatment for the community.

MVC leaders and stakeholders took turns lifting prayers of dedication, pointing to the College’s mission to promote hope, health, and happiness. The ceremony concluded with a symbolic groundbreaking and the affirmation of Christ’s healing power as the foundation of the institution’s medical outreach.

“All glory and honor belong to Jesus Christ,” an MVC representative said. “This new chapter is a testament to our calling to serve with compassion and excellence.”

The hemodialysis facility is part of MVC’s long-term plan to integrate health services more deeply into its campus and community ministries.
