On August 2, 2025, the village of Sîngerei Noi in Moldova celebrated the 90th anniversary of the founding of its local Seventh-day Adventist congregation, known as the “mother church” of the region because it gave rise to several other congregations in nearby communities.

The anniversary gathering brought together current members, former pastors, local residents, and guests from across Moldova and abroad. Among the attendees were leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Moldova, including president Andrei Moldovanu and secretary Ruslan Bulgak, as well as pastors who had previously served in the Sîngerei Noi congregation.

The mayor of Sîngerei Noi, Galina Guțu, and former mayor of Căușeni, Valentina, also attended the celebration. A historical video about the church’s development, prepared by Pastor Denis Sîngereanu, was presented as part of the program. Music and messages of congratulations highlighted the event, which concluded with a community meal shared by attendees.

For members and guests, the anniversary served as both a time of remembrance and an opportunity to reflect on the congregation’s ongoing role in village life and in the broader Sîngerei region.

About the Adventist Church in Moldova

The Seventh-day Adventist Church first took root in Moldova in the early 1930s, with the establishment of small congregations and the first recorded baptisms in 1934. Today, the Moldova Union of Churches Conference, formed in 2008 as part of the Euro-Asia Division, oversees approximately 8,500 members across 140 churches. The Euro-Asia Division spans an extensive region that includes Moldova and other nations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and currently reports more than 57,000 members across nearly 1,000 churches.
