In Chimbote, Peru is a missionary literature evangelist whose life has been a testimony of resilience, faith and commitment.

Despite financial difficulties and the need to work as a teacher, Massiel Fabian Matos has taken care of her sick mother and her sister's education. These responsibilities led her to accept a greater mission in her local church, where she serves as a regional Adventist youth leader and church secretary.

Publishing Ministry: An Opportunity for Service

The pastor of her local church and his wife invited Massiel to be part of the Publishing Ministry because they saw in her the ability to advance in this work. This ministry coordinates and promotes evangelism through the literature of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, helping other departments in the promotion, sale, and distribution of subscriptions to magazines and books published by Adventist publishers.

Missionary work through literature evangelism has led Matos to good results in selling books and attracting Bible students. One of her Bible students comments: "I received the book Habits of Happy People from Massiel, and together with her, I studied the Bible."
