The commitment to innovation and quality of care was reaffirmed by the Adventist Health Network of Pará (RAS/PA) in Brazil with the inauguration of the Integrated Medical Center at the Belém Adventist Hospital, held on February 7, 2025.
Designed to offer patient-centered care, the new space represents an advance in the provision of excellent medical services to the community, reinforcing the institution's commitment to promoting health and well-being.
The symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the board of directors of the RAS/PA and representatives from the South American Division Adventist headquarters, Adventist Health, the North Brazilian Union (UNB), and the North Pará Conference (ANPA), two administrative offices of the Adventist Church.
Authorities such as the deputy secretary of Health for the state of Pará, Cipriano Ferraz, were also present. Leaders and collaborators celebrated the new milestone.

Inauguration Marks Progress in Medical Missionary Work
The ceremony began with words of gratitude and welcome from the General Director of RAS/PA, Jackson Freire, who celebrated the innovative nature of the new building. Designed to integrate medical offices with various specialties, the space brings together imaging diagnostic services, clinical analysis, and pathology laboratories, providing more humanized and efficient care.
Next, the President of the Northern Brazilian Union (UNB), André Dantas, and the Financial Director, Rogério Sousa, highlighted the importance of the complex. For them, the new unit not only reinforces the commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare but also represents an advance in the medical missionary work.

During his speech, Dantas emphasized the purpose of this mission.
“Jesus healed so that people could be healthy. The Bible teaches principles for a full life, and we follow this example by promoting health in an integral way — taking care of the body, mind, and spirit. With the opening of the Center for Integrated Medicine, the Adventist Health Network strengthens this mission, offering quality care, compassion, and hope to more and more people,” he concluded.
Technology and Excellence in Service
After the official opening, guests were given a tour of the new Center’s facilities, designed to combine cutting-edge technology and specialized care. The facility has three MRI machines, three CT scanners, and ten ultrasound machines, ensuring more accurate diagnoses and greater efficiency in the services provided to the community.
During the visit, Adventist Health President Gilnei Abreu highlighted the institution’s commitment to innovation and its mission to serve, always guided by faith and social responsibility.
“We are investing in technology to offer increasingly efficient and humanized care. Our commitment goes beyond health care; it is a mission to serve, bringing healing and hope. God has blessed this institution, and we have a duty to continue this legacy, impacting the community in a significant way,” he emphasized.

He also highlighted the importance of the integration of the Adventist Health Network of Pará with Adventist Health.
“The union of these two institutions strengthens both the institution and the health system as a whole. As a reference in the region, the hospital gains even more structure to improve care in Pará and contribute to the development of health in other parts of the country. This partnership expands our impact and reaffirms our commitment to excellence and the mission of service,” he explained.
Modernization and Accessibility to Better Serve Patients
The new infrastructure prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and accessibility, with escalators, elevators, ramps, and wide corridors. Located in the center of Belém, the space facilitates access for the population.
The project foresees six floors, with two being delivered in this first phase. The ground floor will house the reception, laboratories, and diagnostic imaging services, while the first floor will have pediatric and multispecialty offices. According to engineer André Queiroz, the unit will have approximately 7,000 m², with 3,500 m² completed in this initial phase.

Adventist Health's Healthcare Director, Dr. Davi Reis Lopes, highlighted that the new unit strengthens care at different levels of assistance and expands access to healthcare through the decentralization of services.
“The Adventist Hospital of Belém is already a reference in tertiary care, and with the inauguration of the Integrated Medicine Center, it is also strengthening its position at the secondary level. Our next step is to create smaller, decentralized clinics to consolidate care at all levels of health care. This is a historic milestone for expanding our capacity to offer more complete and accessible care to the community,” he emphasized.
Sustainability Combined with Innovation
The Integrated Medical Center has adopted sustainable practices since its construction. Among these are the use of precast structures, the removal of wood, the sewage treatment system, the reuse of rainwater, LED lighting, selective collection and six charging stations for electric cars. The unit was designed to integrate technology and well-being while maintaining environmental commitment with a modern, functional, and ecologically responsible space.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Secretary of Health of Pará, Cipriano Ferraz, highlighted the partnership between the state government and RAS/PA, emphasizing the institution's role in promoting quality healthcare.
“We are aware of the difficulties in accessing high-quality medical services, but RAS/PA has been a reference, offering humanized and efficient care,” he stated.
In addition, Ferraz announced that the unit will be one of the backup hospitals for COP 30, in Belém.
