Seventh-day Adventist young people in Kiribati recently took part in community outreach activities, using music and small acts of service to share messages of hope and kindness.

Young Adventurers and Pathfinders from Bikenibeu Seventh-day Adventist Church mobilized for outreach. The group set up a Bluetooth speaker at a local bus stop, where they sang gospel songs to passing vehicles and pedestrians while distributing free sandwiches to members of the public.

According to Bikenibeu church Pathfinder director Tearaoi Tekarimwi, the group happily braved the hot and dry weather to connect with the community.

“We just want to come out and meet people and share Jesus through songs and small acts of kindness,” he said.

In another location, youth and women visited Tungaru Central Hospital, where they sang in hospital corridors and shared messages of encouragement with patients in various wards.

One hospital security officer said he was moved by the singing and stopped to listen as the group shared songs of hope and comfort.

Young participants Tekiakia Kabuaua and Sares Kaete said they were grateful for the opportunity to visit patients.

“We feel blessed to be able to come and sing and share gospel songs with those who are unwell,” they said.

Another participant, Teitiria Itintererei, said music plays an important role in ministry.

“Music is a powerful tool God can use to bring healing to people who are suffering in their sick beds,” she said.

The outreach activities are part of preparations for Kiribati for Christ 2026. Kiribati for Christ 2026 is a major Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) mission initiative in the South Pacific aimed at spiritual renewal, with a target of 1,000 baptisms and the establishment of an Adventist presence in unreached areas such as Tamana and Arorae. Leaders are planning additional community visits in the coming months.
