The Key to the Turnaround is the book that will be given as a gift to more than 18 million people across eight South American countries during this year’s Impacto Esperança (Impact Hope) initiative. The project seeks to present themes that offer hope and a renewed perspective on life, while also encouraging the habit of reading.

This year, the book focuses on emotional health, a topic that grows in relevance each year as people seek tools for better personal development. The publication offers practical strategies for managing life’s challenges and stresses, aiming to support emotional and spiritual well-being.

“In a world marked by crises and challenges, many people suffer in silence, carrying emotional wounds that affect their quality of life,” said Rafael Rossi, evangelism director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South America and coordinator of the project.

He added that the book provides guidance that can shift how individuals respond to hardship. “It combines scientific knowledge with spiritual principles. It shows that faith and communion with God are fundamental for a healthy and fulfilling life,” Rossi explained.

For many receiving the book for the first time, Impacto Esperança represents more than a literature campaign.

“This is more than a simple distribution of books—it is a movement of faith, compassion, and commitment to the mission of bringing hope to every home,” Rossi said. “This project unites thousands of people with a single purpose: to share God’s message in an accessible and impactful way.”

Encouraging Reading and Emotional Wellness

Since 2007, Impacto Esperança has distributed more than 300 million free books on topics such as health, family, well-being, and spiritual life. In addition to encouraging reading, the project offers practical help and spiritual messages aimed at making a lasting difference in the lives of recipients.

The Key to the Turnaround provides guidance on emotional struggles, combining mental health insights with spiritual reflections.

“The book shows that taking care of emotions is not just about well-being, but is essential for living a balanced and full life,” said Rossi.

Written by physician Marcello Niek and theologian Bruno Raso, the book addresses emotional resilience, offering support for those dealing with stress, trauma, and the search for meaning.

Digital copies are also available. Readers can learn more about the authors and download the book online.

A Movement of Mission and Connection

According to Rossi, the project strengthens the missionary identity of the Adventist Church by engaging members of all ages, children, youth, and adults, in a shared purpose of sharing hope.

“Distributing books not only expands the reach of the gospel message, but also creates opportunities for new evangelistic strategies,” he said. “This initiative generates lasting impacts, awakening a culture of ongoing involvement in the church.”

In addition to opening doors for community connection and spiritual support, the project offers people the chance to become more familiar with the Adventist Church and its message.

“A book like this has a special power,” Rossi concluded. “It remains, it can be read and reread, and its message can reach future generations.”
